UPMO originally UPMA (Uganda Private Midwives Association) is a non-governmental/non-profit making organization comprising of over 2000 midwives nationwide rendering reproductive health and primary health services in their individual maternity homes as well as a variety of community health activities.
UPMO was established in 1948 by twelve enrolled midwives.
